P.G. Diploma in Radio & TV Journalism

Electronic media is overtaking all other conventional Media of Communication. As Journalist writes for his readers, broadcast journalist speaks for his viewers. The programmes like, Big fight, We the people, Parakh etc. are produced by TV journalists. When you see news story of 5 minutes, there is a big team of news reporters, writers, editors and news officers working day and night for that bulletin. All are trained TV journalists. This specialiszation is designed to up lift your skill of reporting, writing, editing and presenting. It takes out all your fear of facing Camera, tunes up your speech, reshapes your talent of journalism for TV and thus makes you perfect to face your audience or viewers. You learn everything in front of the Camera in our TV studio.

Course Curriculum

Weekly Class Timings & Duration : (Monday to Friday)
Theory–3 hrs. per day–thrice in a week.
Practical–3 hrs per day–twice in a week.
Training on Computer–1.5 hrs. per day – twice in a week.
Every Last Saturday – Examination of topics covered in that month.
Saturdays are generally non working days, but they will be equally utilized for organizing seminars, special workshops, film shows, outdoor shooting and related activities.

Examination Pattern

Group A – Internal Examinations
Programme is divided into two semesters, and there will be examination at the end of each semester. Also there will be examination at the end of every month (except March and April) as a one paper covering all subjects and topics of theory and practical covered during that month of study. Marks of these internal examinations will be notified on final marksheet.
Internal examinations as monthly tests and assignments will be held at the end of August, September, October, November, December, January and February.
Students must appear for at least 5 papers

Group B – Final Examinations

Paper VII        TV Journalism & TV Production Technique                50 marks
Paper VIII      TV Direction and Media Management                         50 marks

                                             Each paper of 50 marks X 8 papers = 400 marks
 

Group C – Other Evaluations
1. Participation in Practicals & Project during 1st semester            – 100 marks
2. Participation in Practicals & Project during 2nd semester           – 100 marks
3. Practical Examnination in the month of March/April                   – 100 marks
4. Internal Assessment as per attendance, general behavior,                       sincerity in class work, homework, submission etc.                       – 50 marks

To qualify for Diploma student must secure 35% marks in individual subject and 40% aggregate. He/She must attend 80% of the theory and practical classes. And all submission of assignments are compulsory.
